East Middle School

Westminster, MD

East Middle School in Westminster, Maryland, uses 24,000 square feet of GreenGirt Max CMH™ over metal studs, behind metal panels, with spray foam insulation. It is a public middle school. The project was designed by Hord Coplan Macht, built by Dustin Construction, Inc., and installed by Interstate Corporation.

An academic building is built to operate efficiently for decades, so its wall must retain its rated thermal performance across the full envelope. The GreenGirt Max CMH girts carry the metal panels and hold the insulation as a continuous plane outboard of the metal studs, so the conductive framing doesn’t reduce the wall’s effective R-value.
