Pier 17 in New York City, New York, uses 17,000 SF of GreenGirt Max CMH™ over metal studs, behind wood siding, with mineral wool insulation. It is a waterfront hospitality and entertainment venue in the Seaport District, designed by SHoP Architects, built by Hunter Roberts Construction Group, and installed by B.T. Mancini Co.

Wood siding on a building directly on the East River is exposed to wind-driven rain and salt air, so the assembly behind it has to drain and dry rather than trap moisture. GreenGirt Max CMH holds the wood siding off the wall on a thermally broken support over continuous mineral wool, creating the drained cavity that lets the cladding shed water while the insulation stays unbroken and protected behind it.
