Thomas Jefferson High School in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, uses 60,000 SF of SMARTci® Building Enclosure System over metal studs, behind brick and MCM cladding, with polyiso insulation. It is a public high school, designed by WTW Architects, built by Nello Construction, and installed by Franco Associates.

A high school is built to serve for decades on public funding, and this one pairs brick, the durable institutional face, with MCM accents. The two behave differently: brick is heavy and absorbs water, while MCM is light and sheds it. SMARTci carries both on a single air- and water-tight enclosure over the metal studs, keeping moisture drawn into the brick off the backup wall while holding one continuous insulated plane behind the whole facade. For a 60,000 SF school, that sealed envelope supports a low-maintenance exterior built to last through years of student use.
