University of Wisconsin School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences

Madison, WI

Morgridge Hall at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in Madison, WI, uses 122,000 SF of GreenGirt Max CMH™ on the walls and the GreenGirt XO™ structural thermal framing system at the windows, over metal studs, behind UHPC panel, ACM, and ribbed siding cladding, with mineral wool insulation. It is the new seven-story home of the School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences, pursuing LEED Platinum certification, designed by Kahler Slater, built by Findorff, and installed by SRS Roofing & Sheet Metal.

The GreenGirt XO system frames the windows so they line up with the insulation, closing the openings where conventional framing loses the most heat. GreenGirt Max CMH holds the wall insulation continuous behind the cladding, keeping the whole envelope insulated for the building’s LEED Platinum goal.
