Verizon Western Hills in Cincinnati, Ohio, uses 2,000 SF of SMARTci® Building Enclosure System over cold-formed metal framing, behind Equitone cladding, with polyiso insulation. It is a commercial telecommunications facility, designed by PDT Architects, built by Turner Construction, and installed by Kalkreuth Roofing & Sheet Metal.

Equitone is a through-colored fiber cement panel hung as a rainscreen, with an air gap behind it that lets the wall drain and dry. SMARTci provides that drained cavity and a continuous air- and water-tight enclosure behind the panels over the cold-formed metal framing, so the Equitone face sheds the brunt of the weather while the sealed assembly behind it handles the rest.
