Vital Climbing Gym in Brooklyn, New York, uses 14,500 SF of SMARTci® building enclosure system over metal studs, behind plaster cladding, with polyiso insulation. It is an indoor climbing and recreation facility, designed by Bright Architecture, built by Inspiron Construction, and installed by Sessa Plastering Corporation.

A climbing gym is a tall, large-volume space, and its plaster exterior is a rigid finish that cracks if the wall behind it moves or is uneven. SMARTci gives that plaster a continuous, stable plane to sit on while sealing the large facade in an air- and water-tight enclosure over polyiso, keeping the finish sound and the high-volume interior conditioned efficiently.
