Deciding on a building enclosure can be complex, but it doesn’t have to be. By installing a SMARTci building enclosure system on your project, you consolidate several individual components into one hassle-free and fully-integrated system. What could be simpler?
The philosophy behind all SMARTci systems is the full integration of GreenGirt composite metal hybrid Z-girts with custom-profiled rigid-board insulation and FRP splines. This combination forms an air- and water-tight building enclosure with a smooth drainage plane. Thus, when all materials arrive on the jobsite, less time is wasted on cutting or routing insulation, significantly reducing the time for installation. To provide multiple options and maximum flexibility, SMARTci can conveniently be installed on closed- or open-framing systems.
Why our custom-routed insulation matters
The substrate- and cladding-facing flanges on GreenGirt CMH are each only a fraction of an inch wide, but that fraction is crucial if it means that standard rigid-board insulation is pushed forward – affecting thermal efficiency, drainage, cladding attachment, and more. With every SMARTci order, rigid-board insulation is custom-profiled in our factory to match the exact specifications of the GreenGirt CMH. By custom profiling the horizontal edges of the insulation, eight upper and lower compression sealing surfaces are created when the insulation is installed into the fully-integrated GreenGirt CMH Z-girt. This process not only ensures a smooth drainage plane but also enhances the system’s efficiency. Additionally, custom-routing the left and right edges of the insulation panels allows installers to insert the provided FRP splines into the vertical channels of the insulation, forming additional compression seals on each side. This approach offers your building a comprehensive 360-degree air- and water-seal.

Most rigid-board insulation is delivered to job sites in standard sizes – often four by eight feet – and then cut to size in the field by contractors/installers. But not with SMARTci! The rigid-board insulation used in SMARTci systems is cut and custom-routed in the A2P factory, arriving at your job site hassle-free and ready to install. This means your crew can focus on the tasks you hired them for, rather than cutting or routing insulation.
