Get to Know Us: The Evolution of Advanced Architectural Products’ Systems

Get to Know Advanced Architectural Products

At Advanced Architectural Products (A2P), feedback from customers and partners is paramount. This article serves as a guide to understanding the recent evolution of our GreenGirt CMH and SMARTci system names, clarifying our commitment to quality, transparency, and sustainability.

A2P, headquartered in Allegan, MI, and established in 2013, is dedicated to providing innovative building envelope solutions. We have adopted a net-zero and carbon-neutral manufacturing model to create healthy and energy-efficient buildings. Our vision is to lead the world’s transition to sustainable and healthy structures, and our mission is to produce the best continuous insulation and building enclosure systems while leaving the world better than we found it.

Exploring the Evolution

Over the years, we received valuable feedback indicating opportunity to clarify and simplify the naming of our popular systems. As the industry shifted, so did we. Our goal was to simplify the naming structure to better reflect our continuous insulation and building enclosure systems.

Simplifying Advanced Architectural Products’ Naming Structure

Our naming evolution is crucial for demonstrating our comprehensive offerings. While some customers may still recognize former product names like “SMARTci 1 in 1” or “GreenGirt Simple Z,” we have transitioned to a simpler and more consistent naming convention. We now categorize our systems into two families: continuous insulation and building enclosure systems. This structure enhances the navigation of project requirements, making it easier for customers to select the right systems for their specific needs.

Listed below are several examples of the way in which our names have evolved:

  • The GreenGirt CMH continuous insulation system, formerly known simply as GreenGirt, now highlights our composite metal hybrid technology. CMH has been added to the naming of all GreenGirt systems, including GreenGirt CMH Clips, GreenGirt CMH Delta Adjustable, and GreenGirt CMH XO.
  • The GreenGirt CMH continuous insulation system also is the new name for the former SMARTci 1 in 1 system.
  • The SMARTci building enclosure system is the new name for the SMARTci 2 in 1, 2.5 in 1, and 3 in 1 systems. The simplified naming highlights the similarities of the air- and water-tight building enclosure system under the consolidated SMARTci name.

Clarifying Advanced Architectural Products’ System Family

Each system serves a distinct purpose, allowing us to better address customer requirements. The GreenGirt CMH continuous insulation systems combine structural support with superior thermal performance, while the SMARTci building enclosure system also integrates air- and water-tight features for comprehensive protection.

SMARTci building enclosure system on closed framing
Previously known as “SMARTci 2 in 1 system” and now named “SMARTci building enclosure system”
SMARTci building enclosure system on open framing
Previously known as “SMARTci 2.5 in 1 system” and now named “SMARTci building enclosure system”

This transition not only simplifies our names but also emphasizes the cohesive nature of our systems. For example, the GreenGirt CMH continuous insulation system works seamlessly with GreenGirt CMH XO, our continuous insulation system for windows, and compatible accessories, providing a holistic solution. Every GreenGirt CMH and SMARTci system ordered continues to include a finite element analysis and engineering support at no additional cost. The SMARTci system can be installed on both open and closed framing, catering to diverse project needs.

Conclusion

The evolution of Advanced Architectural Products’ system names reflects our commitment to clarity and customer-centricity. By adopting a simplified naming structure, we ensure that A2P customers can easily navigate our offerings and make informed decisions. Our systems not only meet but exceed industry standards, promoting energy efficiency and sustainability.
