For Installers

The lowest-cost installed system.*

Our systems install faster, use less material because they’re built stronger, and come backed by A2P’s engineering team from spec to field, so what you get is the lowest-cost installed system, not just the lowest price per piece.

Watch it go up

Designed by installers, for installers.

The engineers who designed these systems have installed sub-framing and cladding themselves. Every joint, spacing, and fastening point was designed by someone who’s felt what actually slows a crew down.

GreenGirt CMH™ Z-girts interlock at each joint and GreenGirt Steel™ Z-girts overlap with slotted holes at the fastening points. Installed horizontally, the joint doesn’t have to land on a stud, so no one cuts a Z-girt to chase framing. Standard 8-foot lengths fit a lift basket so one installer can carry, place, and fasten alone.

Fastening stays in sight, never blind, so the crew checks each connection as they make it. SMARTci® panels arrive custom-profiled, with no field cutting and no stickpins to place, cap, or inspect. Z-girts and insulation are engineered as one system, not parts to sort out on site.

The SMARTci project dried in the interior of the building quicker, and in the middle of Michigan winter! The system allowed me to run my portable heater at half the power, with no condensation on the walls, and the real-time thermals proved it was sealed. My other trades were able to move along without waiting, speeding up the entire project timeline. The SMARTci system was very cost-effective.

Cost to install

Material price isn't what the wall costs. Installed cost is.

On a bid sheet, the Z-girt line looks simple: price per piece x the amount. The wall doesn’t get built that way. It gets built by a crew whose hours usually cost more than the Z-girts do.

Crew-hours comparison
Same wall, two layouts. FRP-only Z-girts at 16 inches on center, left, need noticeably more rows than GreenGirt Max CMH at 24 inches on center, right. Row counts are illustrative, not to scale.

That’s where the lowest installed cost comes from. Stronger Z-girts span wider, so the wall takes fewer rows: GreenGirt Max CMH™ runs at 24 inches on center where FRP-only Z-girts typically stay at 16. Fewer rows means fewer layout lines, fewer fasteners, fewer holes to seal, and fewer trips up the lift.

Then it repeats. You don’t put up one building a year, the system you choose follows every job behind it.

Education & Certification

Get certified. Get listed. Get referred.

Certification is a credential you own, not a hoop to jump through to buy material.

  1. 01

    Enroll

Free, and open before you bid, not after you win.

  2. 02

    Train on live mockups

Hands on the material, on a real assembly, with your own crew.

  3. 03

    Certify

Listed publicly, and your installation is documented for closeout.

Our engineers train and certify your crew on live mockups. A2P publishes certified installers by name and region, and refers work to them. Put the credential on the truck, the website, and the prequalification package.

FAQ

What installers actually ask us.

What makes GreenGirt CMH™ and SMARTci® faster to install than a standard Z-girt system?

The time savings come from the steps a system removes, not from doing each step a little quicker. GreenGirt CMH™ keeps a familiar process but makes it more efficient: no hat channels, no cutting to studs, no shimming, no stickpins, and no blind fastening. SMARTci® on open framing goes further. Its self-sealing system does several jobs at once, so separate materials and layers aren’t needed. Either way, you get a faster install than the standard Z-girt assembly it replaces. See the nine steps in the article “Fastest Continuous Insulation Installation: Speed Comes from System Design, Not a Faster Crew.”

Do I still need stick pins or separate insulation retention tools with GreenGirt CMH or SMARTci?

No. GreenGirt CMH™ and GreenGirt Steel™ Z-girts have insulation retention built in, so there’s nothing to place, cap, or check. Additionally, on SMARTci®, each row of Z-girts also locks the insulation below it as the wall goes up.

How wide can I space Z-girts, and how does that change between GreenGirt CMH™, GreenGirt Steel™, and SMARTci®?

Spacing depends on the cladding weight, the wind load and the insulation thickness, so the load tables and the project engineer set it for each project. Because of the system’s high structural capacity, GreenGirt CMH™ Z-girts have been installed at 24 inches on center and even 32 inches on center on completed projects. FRP-only Z-girts typically stay at 16 inches on center.

Where are GreenGirt and SMARTci systems manufactured, and what are current lead times?

A2P systems are made in the U.S. and warehoused in Michigan and Washington. We ship from both locations, which covers projects on both coasts and keeps lead times short and predictable. Shipments can also be scheduled around your construction sequence, so each phase arrives when the crew and lift are ready for it and you don’t have to store the whole building on site. The goal is simple: complete, ready-to-install materials on site when you need them. For lead times on a specific project, contact your A2P sales rep or contact us.

Are GreenGirt™ and SMARTci® systems Buy America, BABA, and BAA compliant for public or federal work?

GreenGirt CMH™ and SMARTci® have always been manufactured in the USA, and they always will be. Both systems are made at A2P’s plant in Hamilton, Michigan, and warehoused in Hamilton and Allegan, Michigan, and in Seattle/Sumner, Washington. For public and federal projects, A2P provides a Build America, Buy America (BABA) compliance letter and a Buy American Act (BAA) compliance letter. Both can be downloaded from the Technical Library at greengirt.com. The contracting agency makes the final compliance decision for each project, so include the letters with your submittals. If you need more documentation, contact A2P at (269) 355-1818.

Do my crews need special tools, training, or certification to install GreenGirt™ or SMARTci®?

No special tools or certification are needed. GreenGirt™ and SMARTci® systems were designed by installers for installers, so your crews can install them with the tools they already use. A2P recommends that installation be supervised by an experienced craftsperson trained on the system, and we can provide that training for free. To learn more, contact your A2P sales rep or call (269) 355-1818.

How do GreenGirt CMH™ and SMARTci® reduce fasteners and installation passes compared to a standard Z-girt system?

It comes down to fewer girt rows and fewer layers. Because of the system’s high structural capacity, GreenGirt CMH™ Z-girts can often be spaced at 24 inches on center instead of the typical 16 inches on center. That cuts the number of Z-girt rows by a third, along with the fasteners that go with them. On SMARTci®, the Z-girts and insulation go up together in a single pass. Because cladding attaches directly to the Z-girts, there’s no separate hat channel pass. Final spacing and fastener counts come from the load tables and the project engineer.

Why can a "cheaper" continuous insulation system actually cost more once labor is factored in?

Because price per piece says nothing about crew hours. A Z-girt that needs 16-inch spacing and a separate stickpins step takes far more labor than one that spans 24 inches and holds the insulation itself. Labor is the bigger line on most continuous insulation jobs, and it’s the one the system choice moves most.

How fast can I get load tables and PE-stamped calculations for a bid?

Contact your A2P territory rep for help with calculations, structural capacity and load requirements for your project. They’ll work with our engineering team to get you what you need for your bid. When a project requires PE-stamped calculations, A2P offers them for a flat fee. To get started, contact us or call (269) 355-1818.

Does A2P provide on-site or virtual installer support for a crew's first job with the system?

Yes. Every GreenGirt™ and SMARTci® system has step-by-step installation manuals and installation videos to help your crew get ready before material arrives. You can find both at greengirt.com. Your A2P territory rep is available to answer questions and walk your team through the details of your project. When a project calls for it, A2P can also provide on-site support for your crew. To get started, contact your A2P territory rep or call (269) 355-1818.

Who is my single point of contact from bid through completion?

What's the fastest way to request a quote or reach my local A2P rep?

Use the form below, or call (269) 355-1818.

When a detail doesn’t match the drawing or a field condition changes, who do I call?

Call A2P technical support at (269) 355-1818. A person picks up, not a form.

What if the wall isn’t flat or plumb?

GreenGirt CMH Delta™ Adjustable has up to 10.5 inches of built-in adjustability. The rail plumbs within that range, so there’s no shim stock and no measure-shim-check loop.

How do I know the fastener hit the substrate?

No GreenGirt or SMARTci® system uses blind fastening. Fasteners drive through the rear-facing flange into the substrate, in the installer’s line of sight, so the crew confirms each connection as they make it.
