Banc of California Stadium

Los Angeles, CA
Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, California, uses 24,000 square feet of the SMARTci® building enclosure system over metal studs with gypsum, behind Centria metal panels, with polyiso insulation. It is a soccer stadium, with the system covering the venue’s enclosed concourse and support walls rather than the open seating bowl. The project was designed by Gensler, built by PCL, and installed by Best Contracting.

For a large stadium façade built to California’s energy code, the wall needed a continuous, weather-tight enclosure; the SMARTci system supported that by wrapping the metal-stud backup in continuous insulation behind an integrated air- and water-barrier. In Los Angeles’s mild, dry climate the driver isn’t heating and cooling load. It’s the continuous insulation that Title 24 requires and a durable exterior that holds up on a big, public-facing venue, with SMARTci carrying the Centria metal panels on a sealed, water-managed plane.
