Boulder Commons

Denver, CO
Boulder Commons in Denver, Colorado, uses 10,000 square feet of the SMARTci® building enclosure system over metal studs, behind metal panels, with polyiso insulation. It is a mixed-use development. The project was designed by Coburn Architecture, built by Shaw Construction, and installed by Douglass Colony.

For a mixed-use building, the envelope’s job is to buffer all of them from a demanding climate; SMARTci did that as an air- and water-tight enclosure that carries the metal panels while eliminating the thermal bypass air leakage causes. On Colorado’s Front Range, where temperatures swing sharply between day and night and the high-altitude air is thin and dry, a sealed, continuous wall is what keeps interior conditions steady against those swings.
