Bristol Community College in Fall River, Massachusetts, uses 12,500 square feet of GreenGirt Max CMH™ over metal studs, behind zinc panels and wood, with mineral wool insulation. It is an academic building on the community college’s campus. The project was designed by Sasaki and installed by Sunrise Erectors.

For a college building clad in zinc, the cladding must hang as a back-ventilated, drained rainscreen rather than press against the insulation, because zinc corrodes from behind when moisture sits against its underside. GreenGirt Max CMH accomplishes this by holding the zinc and wood off the wall on a vented, draining cavity over continuous mineral wool, so air moves behind the panels and incidental water can drain. In coastal, humid Fall River, that back-ventilation protects the zinc-and-wood façade from the trapped moisture that would otherwise shorten its life.
