Cauley Ferrari of Detroit in West Bloomfield, Michigan, uses 12,000 square feet of the SMARTci® building enclosure system over metal studs, behind ACM cladding, with polyiso insulation. It is a Ferrari dealership and showroom. The project was designed by inFORM Studio and installed by Wolverine Enclosures.

For a luxury automobile showroom, the façade is part of the product. A Ferrari dealership depends on its image, so the exterior must appear flawless, with the ACM panels perfectly flat and their reveal joints precisely aligned. For this reason, the SMARTci girts form a two-way grid, supporting the panel layout in both directions so that the joints remain aligned, rather than bracing the panels along a single axis. Behind that exacting surface, the same system encloses the wall in continuous polyiso and an air- and water-tight barrier, maintaining a comfortable showroom and a sound envelope through a cold Michigan winter, with none of that work visible on the exterior.
