Comstock STEM Academy

Kalamazoo, MI

Comstock STEM Academy in Kalamazoo, MI, uses 8,500 SF of GreenGirt Steel™ over CMU, behind WHP panel cladding, with spray foam insulation. It is a public STEM school, the district’s first new building in over 50 years, designed by GMB and built by Miller-Davis.

The spray foam insulation is applied wet, expanding to fill the girt cavity and seal the assembly in one pass. GreenGirt Steel carries the cladding on its steel Z-girts over the CMU backup, maintaining that continuous insulation against the cold winters of southwest Michigan.
