Esperanza Brighton Park Health Center

Chicago, IL

Esperanza Brighton Park Health Center in Chicago, Illinois, uses 18,000 square feet of GreenGirt Max CMH™ over metal studs and CMU, behind ACM and single-skin ribbed metal panels, with mineral wool insulation. It is a community health center serving the Brighton Park neighborhood. The project was designed by Urban Works, built by M.A. Mortenson Company, and installed by American Igloo Builders.

A community clinic operates on a fixed budget, so a predictable, efficient envelope returns funds to patient care rather than to utilities. The difficulty in this wall is a backup that changes construction across the elevations, where masonry and steel framing conduct heat at different rates. The GreenGirt Max CMH girts carry the insulation outboard of both as a single continuous plane, so the assembly maintains one effective R-value rather than weakening at each transition.
