A downtown hotel is built tight to the street, with guest rooms directly behind the facade, so the envelope has to hold comfortable, weather-tight rooms against city-side exposure while carrying a clean public face. SMARTci seals the wall in a continuous air- and water-tight enclosure that keeps interior conditions steady through Ann Arbor’s cold winters, behind an ACM exterior set true on its girt grid. On a compact 5,000 SF facade, that sealed enclosure is what most directly serves the comfort of the rooms behind it.
