Illinois Veterans Hospital and Home in Quincy, Illinois, uses 69,000 square feet of GreenGirt Max CMH™ over steel studs, behind fiber cement cladding, with mineral wool insulation. It is a hospital and long-term residential care facility for veterans. It was designed by HDR Architecture, built by River City Construction and Alberici as a joint venture, and installed by TJ Wies Contracting.

A veterans hospital and care home is occupied around the clock by patients and long-term residents, so the wall must hold a steady interior temperature across a large envelope. The GreenGirt Max CMH girts carry the fiber cement and maintain a continuous insulation plane outboard of the steel studs, and the composite metal hybrid sub-framing reduces the conduction that would otherwise create cold spots at the framing.
