Indiana University Health Fishers Tower Expansion

Fishers, IN

Indiana University Health Fishers Tower Expansion in Fishers, Indiana, uses 48,000 SF of the SMARTci® Building Enclosure System over metal studs, behind ACM panel cladding, with mineral wool insulation. It is a hospital expansion adding outpatient primary and specialty care and a dedicated pediatric emergency department, designed by HKS, built by Messer Construction, and installed by Interior Specialties, Inc.

A hospital houses patients who cannot quickly evacuate, so a non-combustible insulation is a meaningful safety choice, and the mineral wool here provides exactly that, an unbroken insulating layer that will not feed a fire. SMARTci holds it continuous behind the ACM within an air- and water-tight enclosure, keeping interior conditions steady through Indiana’s cold winters.
