Missouri State University Kemper Hall in Springfield, MO, uses 8,000 SF of GreenGirt Max CMH™ over steel studs, behind fiber cement cladding, with mineral wool insulation. It houses the physics, astronomy, and materials science department and its research laboratories, and this scope is an 8,000 SF addition. The project was designed by Trivers, built by Carson-Mitchell, Inc., and installed by Performance Contracting, Inc.

A research laboratory depends on a stable, controlled interior, since temperature variation can affect sensitive instruments and measurements. GreenGirt Max CMH maintains a continuous mineral wool layer outside the steel framing, holding the insulation unbroken across the studs so the wall retains a high effective R-value and supports steady interior conditions behind a fiber cement exterior.
