Oregon Health & Science University

Portland, OR

Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR, uses 37,000 SF of GreenGirt Max CMH™ over metal studs, behind ACM cladding, with mineral wool insulation. It is a hospital expansion at the Marquam Hill campus, adding a patient pavilion, operating rooms, and 184 inpatient beds. The project was designed and built by Skanska, and installed by Streimer Sheet Metal Works.

A hospital housing inpatients and operating rooms includes occupants who cannot evacuate quickly, which makes non-combustible insulation a relevant safety factor. The mineral wool here meets that, and GreenGirt Max CMH holds it continuous outside the metal studs while carrying the ACM on a thermally broken support.
