The Richard Gilder Center at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City uses 12,100 square feet of GreenGirt Max CMH™ over metal studs, behind stucco, with EPS insulation. It is the educational portion of the museum’s expansion, open to the public. The project was designed by Studio Gang Architects, built by AECOM Tishman, and installed by Milo Plastering.

For a public museum space built for energy performance and stable interior conditions, the wall needed continuous insulation that limits thermal bridging through the metal-stud framing; GreenGirt Max CMH supported that by holding the stucco cladding over a continuous insulation layer. In New York’s climate, that uninterrupted layer reduces heating and cooling loads and helps keep interior conditions steady in a building that sees heavy public traffic.
