Texas State Technical College Industrial Technology Center in Abilene, Texas, uses 2,000 SF of the SMARTci® building enclosure system over metal studs, behind metal panel cladding, with custom-profiled polyiso insulation. It is a technical college training facility, designed by PBK Architects and built and installed by Wade Architectural Systems.

A technical college’s industrial training building takes harder daily use than a standard classroom, with shop equipment and the wear of hands-on trades instruction, so a tough, low-maintenance metal exterior suits it. SMARTci carries that metal skin on a continuous, air- and water-tight insulated enclosure. In Abilene’s hot West Texas climate, the main work of that sealed, continuously insulated wall is holding down the cooling load through long, hot summers.
