Wainwright Intermediate School

Fircrest, WA

Wainwright Intermediate School in Fircrest, Washington, uses 45,000 SF of GreenGirt Max CMH™ over metal studs, behind fiber cement cladding, with spray foam insulation. It is a public intermediate school, designed by DLR Group and installed by Neely Construction.

In the wet Puget Sound climate, a school exterior has to shed near-constant rain, and fiber cement gives Wainwright a durable, rot-resistant face for that. Behind it, the spray foam is applied wet and expands to fill the girt cavity, air-sealing the wall in one pass so the assembly stays tight against the damp and the insulation performs without gaps across a large school facade.
