Windsor High School

Windsor, CO

Windsor High School in Windsor, Colorado, uses 26,000 SF of the SMARTci® Building Enclosure System over CMU, behind brick and metal panel cladding, with polyiso insulation. It is a public high school designed by DLR Group, built by GH Phipps Construction Co., and installed by Copper Spring Solutions.

This high school pairs brick with metal panels over a CMU backup, two claddings that behave differently: brick is heavy and absorbs water, while metal panels are light and shed it. SMARTci carries both on one continuous air- and water-tight enclosure over the masonry, keeping moisture drawn into the brick off the backup wall and holding a single insulated plane behind the whole facade. For a school on Colorado’s Front Range, that sealed enclosure supports a low-maintenance exterior across wide temperature swings.
