Anne Arundel Community College

Arnold, MD
Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Maryland, uses 18,000 linear feet of GreenGirt Max CMH™ over metal studs, behind metal panels and terra cotta, with mineral wool insulation. It is a higher-education building serving the college’s students and faculty. The project was designed by SmithGroup, built by Whiting-Turner Construction Company, and installed by Alliance Exterior.

For a campus building meant to serve for decades on an institutional budget, the wall needed continuous insulation and support for more than one cladding type; GreenGirt Max CMH supported that by carrying that varied cladding over a continuous insulation layer while limiting thermal bridging through the metal-stud framing. The continuous layer improves energy performance and lowers operating cost over the building’s long service life, and it carries both heavier and lighter cladding on one insulated plane.
