Cleaner structure, harmonized testing, and sustainability documentation streamline design and code review.
October 6, 2025 | Allegan, MI – Advanced Architectural Products released new manufacturer guide specifications for the GreenGirt CMH™, GreenGirt Steel™, and SMARTci® portfolio of continuous insulation and building enclosure systems. These refined guide specifications are easier to adopt, more defensible in code review, and better aligned with today’s sustainability and performance expectations.
What’s New with the Guide Specs?
The updated specifications streamline document structure by removing hidden edits and specifier notes, while harmonized testing requirements—such as fastener pull-out strength, NFPA 285 compliance, and service temperature benchmarks—unify A2P’s systems. Clear metrics like R-value retention and air/water resistance confirm long-term performance, and consistent sustainability language, including product-specific EPDs and halogen/bromine-free chemistry, ensures environmental assurance across the GreenGirt and SMARTci portfolio. These updates give design teams faster navigation, fewer edits, and cleaner plan reviews, resulting in a turnkey spec that is easily accessible across BIM tools, spec software, and review processes.
Finally, richer technical references anticipate questions on water absorption, density, fire, and environmental claims, giving engineers and code officials transparent testing data they need up front rather than having to dig or conduct more research to find test results and data findings.
New Spec Additions
- “Made in the USA” requirements, including a certificate of compliance with the Buy America Act, verifies that all materials meet applicable domestic production requirements.
- Sustainability upgrades emphasize net‑zero manufacturing language, red‑list compliance, and mandatory EPD label documentation that positions projects for LEED, International Living Building Future Institute, Passive House, and other green frameworks.
- Never-before-published guide specs for GreenGirt CMH XO™ and GreenGirt Steel. Every A2P system now has downloadable specs ready for use.
- Explicit requirements for permanent steel-to-steel connections, including mandated fastener creep testing and reference material from the ASCE Design Guide for FRP Composite Connections.
“Delivering enclosure systems that meet stringent performance targets begins long before a product reaches the jobsite,” said José Carrasco, A2P’s Industry Relations Manager & Marketing Specialist. “GreenGirt and SMARTci systems endure rigorous testing across fire, moisture, structural, and thermal performance so architects and project teams know they are specifying products with traceable materials controls, meaning fewer edits, RFIs, and surprises downstream.”
