Daybreak Library

South Jordan, UT

Daybreak Library in South Jordan, Utah, uses 16,000 square feet of the SMARTci® building enclosure system over metal studs, behind metal panels, with polyiso insulation. It is a public library serving the Daybreak community. It was designed by Architectural Nexus, built by Stallings Construction, and installed by Southam & Associates.

A community library serves the public for decades and depends on a quiet, stable interior for its visitors and its collection. South Jordan’s high-desert climate brings wide temperature swings across a day and across the seasons, and the SMARTci enclosure moderates them by wrapping the wall in continuous polyiso and an air-tight barrier, keeping interior conditions even and reducing the load on the building’s mechanical systems. Behind a durable, cost-effective metal-panel exterior, that sealed, insulated envelope suits the long-term needs of a public branch library.
