The Friendship Engine and Hose Company in Merrick, New York, is demolishing their original firehouse, constructed in 1931, to build a new, modernized fire station designed to improve emergency response efficiency, firefighter safety, and long-term operational capacity. The new facility includes expanded apparatus bays, exhaust ventilation systems, living quarters, fitness and training areas, and infrastructure intended to support future EMS and disaster-response operations. This project incorporates 4,200 square feet of the SMARTci building enclosure system to enhance thermal efficiency, reduce energy loss, and eliminate thermal bypass.
