San Bernardino Welcoming Resource Center in San Bernardino, CA, uses 32,000 SF of the SMARTci® building enclosure system over metal studs, behind plaster cladding, with polyiso insulation. It is a school district family resource center providing services, workshops, and community events, designed by Ruhnau Clarke Architects, built by Bernards, and installed by Caston Inc.

Plaster is a rigid, wet-applied finish that cracks if its backing moves, so it requires a continuous, stable plane. SMARTci provides that within an air- and water-tight enclosure over polyiso, holding the insulation continuous across the metal studs.
