Yale New Haven Hospital

New Haven, CT

Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, uses 9,000 SF of the GreenGirt CMH Delta™ Adjustable System over metal studs and gypsum, behind ACM cladding, with mineral wool insulation. It is a hospital, designed by Shepley Bulfinch, built by Turner Construction Company, and installed by Massey’s Plate Glass & Aluminum, Inc.

ACM shows any unevenness in the wall behind it, so on a hospital facade built up over metal studs and gypsum, variation in the backup would telegraph through the panels. The Delta Adjustable system lets the installer adjust each girt in the field to bring the ACM to a true plane, while the mineral wool behind it is non-combustible, an unbroken insulating layer suited to a building where many patients cannot quickly evacuate.
